That's Right!  The "Music Revolution" has begun.  Streetlight Manifesto, a third wave ska band, has started a movement that will change music forever.  They have started an 8 album project entitled 99 Songs of Revolution.  These albums will consist of 4 bands making 2 albums each.  Each band will choose songs that have changed them or made them who they are musically and cover those songs.  Thomas Kalnoky, genius behind this project and lead singer of the Streetlight, started this movement with some of his favorite songs from artists like Raidiohead, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and The Postal Service.  He also covered a song from his other band, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution (because he is that bad ass).   This is probably the best album on the market today.  The songs on the album are as follows:

                1. Birds Flying Away - Mason Jennings
                2. Hell - Squirrel Nut Zippers
                3. Just - Radiohead
                4. Skyscraper - Bad Religion
                5. Punk Rock Girl - The Dead Milkmen
                6. Linoleum - NOFX
                7. Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard - Paul Simon
                8. They Provide The Paint - B.O.T.A.R.
                9. Red Rubber Ball - The Cyrkle
                10. The Troubador - Louis Jordan
                11. Such Great Heights - The Postal Service

If you like these songs, then you will love Streetlight Manifesto's version of the songs as well.  With Kalnoky being a "self proclaimed perfectionist", Streetlight has made a flawless album.  You can tell that he is a self proclaimed perfectionist as you listen to the album.  The album also has guest appearances by Dan Potthast on vocals and Achilles Kalnoky on violin in the song Linoleum.  With the awesome line up that is Streetlight Manifesto, nothing can go wrong.

To support Streetlight Manifesto, do not order this amazing album from iTunes.  Unfortunately, it helps their producer (whom they dislike passionately) more than it helps them.  Instead, order the album from here:

You may have to wait a week or so, but it is totally worth it.  And you could order the shirt and get a good deal.  It even comes with a sweet kickass poster.  If you decide to order (cause you will like it) get their other albums.  You will not be disappointed.
